Adding support artists (opening acts) to your tour gives fans a richer experience and helps promote the artists sharing the stage with you. Fanaura makes it easy to add support artists with Spotify search integration and AI-generated bios — no manual research required.

What Support Artists Look Like on Your Tour Page

When you add support artists to a tour, they appear as cards on your tour smart link page, typically below your tour dates. Each support artist card shows:
  • Artist photo (pulled from Spotify)
  • Artist name
  • A short bio (AI-generated from Spotify data)
  • Clickable link to the support artist’s profile
This gives your fans a reason to arrive early and discover the opening act. It also gives the support artist valuable exposure to your audience.

Adding a Support Artist

Step 1: Open the Support Artists Section

On either the tour creation page or the tour management page, find the Support Artists section. It is open by default for easy access.

Step 2: Click “Add Support Artist”

Click the ”+ Add Support Artist” button. A search modal opens.

Step 3: Search by Name

Type the support artist’s name into the search field. Fanaura uses the Spotify search API to find matching artists in real time. As you type, a list of results appears showing:
  • Artist name
  • Profile photo
  • Follower count (helps you pick the right artist if there are multiple with similar names)
  • Genres (confirms you have the right artist)
  • Popularity score (Spotify’s 0-100 popularity metric)

Step 4: Select the Artist

Click on the correct artist from the search results. Fanaura immediately:
  1. Adds the artist to your support artist list.
  2. Imports their profile photo from Spotify.
  3. Generates an AI bio using the artist’s Spotify data (genres, followers, and public information).

Step 5: Review and Confirm

The support artist now appears in your support artists list with their photo and generated bio. You can:
  • Edit the bio if you want to customize it.
  • Regenerate the bio if the AI version does not quite hit the mark.
  • Remove the artist if you added the wrong one.

The AI-Generated Bio

When you add a support artist, Fanaura generates a short, engaging bio using AI and the artist’s Spotify data. The bio typically includes:
  • The artist’s genre and style
  • Notable achievements or milestones (follower count, popular tracks)
  • A sentence or two about their sound
Example AI-generated bio:
“Hailing from Austin, TX, River Stone blends indie folk with Americana storytelling. With over 50,000 Spotify followers and a debut EP that landed on Spotify’s Fresh Finds playlist, they bring a raw, authentic energy to every stage.”

Editing the Bio

If you want to customize the bio:
  1. Click the edit icon next to the bio text.
  2. A text field opens where you can modify the bio.
  3. Make your edits and click Save.
Common reasons to edit:
  • Add specific details the AI did not know (e.g., “River Stone is from the same hometown as [your artist name]”).
  • Mention a shared tour history (e.g., “After opening for us last summer, River Stone is back for the full 2026 run”).
  • Adjust the tone to match your brand voice.
  • Fix any AI inaccuracies.

Regenerating the Bio

If you do not like the generated bio at all, click the “Regenerate” or “AI Bio” button (indicated by a sparkle icon). Fanaura generates a new version. Each generation produces a slightly different result, so you can try a few times until you get one you like.

Managing Support Artists

Reordering

If you have multiple support artists, they appear in the order you added them. Currently, the display order matches the order in which they were added. The first support artist added appears first on your tour page.

Removing a Support Artist

To remove a support artist:
  1. Find them in the support artist list on your tour management page.
  2. Click the “X” or trash icon next to their name.
  3. Confirm the removal.
The artist is immediately removed from your tour page. This does not affect the artist’s Spotify profile or any other external data.

Multiple Support Artists

You can add as many support artists as you need. Common configurations:
  • One opener: Standard for club shows and smaller venues.
  • Two openers: Common for theater and mid-size venue tours.
  • Three or more: Typical for festivals, multi-act bills, or package tours.
Each support artist gets their own card on your tour page with equal visual treatment.

Support Artists on the Fan-Facing Page

On your tour smart link page, support artists are displayed in a dedicated section. The visual presentation includes:
  • Circular or rounded profile photos pulled from Spotify.
  • Artist names in clear, readable typography.
  • Short bios below each name.
  • Clickable links — fans can click on a support artist to visit their profile or streaming page.
This section is designed to:
  • Encourage fans to discover and follow the support acts.
  • Give the support artists promotional value from being on your tour.
  • Create a more complete, professional-looking tour page.

Best Practices

Add Support Artists Before Announcing

Include your support artists on your tour page before you announce the tour publicly. This way, when fans first see your tour page, the full lineup is already there. Announcing support acts later as a separate reveal is also a valid strategy for building additional hype.

Use the AI Bio as a Starting Point

The AI bio is good, but you can make it great by adding personal touches. Mention why you chose this artist, a shared musical connection, or something fans would not know from just looking at Spotify data.

Promote Your Support Acts

Your support artists are part of the show experience. Share their music with your fans, tag them on social media, and encourage your audience to arrive early. This builds goodwill with the support artist and enriches the concert experience for your fans.

Keep Bios Short

Fans on mobile devices are scrolling quickly. A bio of 2-3 sentences is ideal — long enough to give context, short enough to read at a glance.

Common Questions

Does the support artist need a Fanaura account?

No. You are adding them from Spotify search data. They do not need to be on Fanaura. The bio and photo are pulled from their public Spotify profile.

What if the support artist is not on Spotify?

Currently, the search integration uses Spotify. If the support artist is not on Spotify, you would not be able to add them through the search flow. A manual entry option for support artists without Spotify profiles may be available in a future update.

Can different tour dates have different support artists?

Currently, support artists are set at the tour level — they appear on the tour page for all dates. If different shows have different openers, you can note this in your tour description or individual event details.

Does adding a support artist notify them?

No. Adding a support artist to your Fanaura tour page does not send them any notification. It is purely a display feature on your page.

Can support artists see their analytics from my tour page?

No. Support artist analytics (clicks on their card, profile visits) are visible to you in your dashboard. The support artist would only see this data if they had access to your Fanaura account.
