Your fans are the reason you make music. Fanaura’s fan database is built to help you know them better, reach them faster, and reward them for showing up. Every single interaction a fan has with you — pre-saving your next single, RSVPing to a show, buying a hoodie, opening an email, replying to a text, or sliding into your Instagram DMs — gets tracked in one place. No more jumping between Mailchimp, Shopify, your Instagram inbox, and a spreadsheet. It all lives here.

Why Fan Data Matters

Most artists have fans scattered across a dozen platforms with no way to connect the dots. The person who pre-saved your album might also be the one who bought merch last month and RSVPs to every show within 200 miles. Without a unified view, you would never know that. Fanaura connects those dots. When you can see the full picture of who your fans are and what they care about, you can:
  • Send the right message to the right people — tour announcements to fans in that city, merch drops to your biggest spenders, new music alerts to your most engaged listeners.
  • Identify your superfans — the ones who show up everywhere, every time. These are the people who deserve early access, VIP experiences, and your personal attention.
  • Make smarter decisions — book tours where your fans actually live, price merch based on real purchase data, and double down on the marketing channels that actually work.

How Fans Enter Your Database

Fans flow into Fanaura from every touchpoint in your marketing ecosystem. You never have to manually enter data unless you want to.

Automatic Sources

SourceHow It Works
Pre-Save CampaignsWhen a fan pre-saves your upcoming release through a Fanaura smart link, their name, email, and Spotify/Apple Music profile get captured automatically.
RSVP PagesFans who RSVP to your shows provide their name, email, and location. Fanaura tracks which events they expressed interest in.
SMS Opt-InWhen a fan texts your artist phone number, they are added to your database with their phone number and SMS consent recorded.
Email SignupFans who enter their email on any Fanaura smart link or landing page are captured with email consent.
Instagram DMWhen a fan sends a DM to your connected Instagram account, Fanaura logs the interaction and creates a fan record tied to their Instagram handle.
Shopify PurchaseConnect your Shopify store and every customer who buys merch gets synced into your fan database with their purchase history.

Manual Sources

Manual EntryClick “Add Fan” to create a fan record by hand. Great for adding someone you met at a show or a contact from your phone.
CSV ImportUpload a spreadsheet of fans from another platform. Fanaura maps your columns and deduplicates by email.

Three Ways to View Your Fans

Fanaura gives you three distinct views of your fan database, each designed for a different purpose.

1. Directory (Table View)

The Directory is your master fan list — a searchable, sortable, filterable table of every fan in your database. Think of it as your fan spreadsheet, but way more powerful.
  • Search by name, email, phone, or Instagram handle
  • Filter by source, VIP tier, location, or engagement status
  • Sort by any column
  • Select fans for bulk actions
  • Export to CSV

2. Heatmaps (Geographic View)

The Heatmap shows you where your fans are on an interactive map. Powered by Mapbox, it visualizes fan density with color-coded gradients so you can instantly see your hotspots.
  • Overlay your tour dates to compare fan locations vs. show routing
  • Filter by fan type (pre-savers, RSVP’d, merch buyers, VIPs)
  • Click into a city to see fan counts and save that group as a list

3. Lists (Segments View)

Lists let you organize fans into targeted groups. Some lists are created automatically (like notification preferences), and you can create your own based on any combination of filters.
  • Build dynamic lists that auto-update as fans meet your criteria
  • Use lists to target blasts and trigger flows
  • Five notification lists are auto-created for every artist

What Makes Fanaura Different

Unified Fan Identity

Most platforms only know fans within their own silo. Your email tool knows email addresses. Your SMS tool knows phone numbers. Your social media tool knows handles. None of them talk to each other. Fanaura merges all of those identities into a single fan profile. If someone pre-saved your album with their email, then later texted your number, then bought a shirt on Shopify — Fanaura connects all three into one profile. You see the whole person, not fragments.

Artist-Scoped Data

Every artist on Fanaura has their own independent fan database. If you manage multiple artists (as a manager or label), each artist’s fans are completely separate. A fan who follows both of your artists will have a distinct profile under each one. This means you can run campaigns, build lists, and view analytics for each artist without any cross-contamination.

Engagement Scoring & VIP Tiers

Fanaura automatically calculates an engagement score (0-100) for every fan based on their activity. Fans earn tokens for actions like pre-saving, RSVPing, purchasing merch, and engaging with your emails. As they accumulate tokens, they level up through VIP tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. This lets you instantly identify your most dedicated supporters and reward them accordingly. Getting Started with Fan Management

If you are just getting started, here is the recommended path:
  1. Connect your channels — Link Instagram, Shopify, and set up your SMS number on the Integrations page.
  2. Import existing fans — If you have fans in a spreadsheet or another platform, import them via CSV.
  3. Launch a smart link — Create a pre-save or landing page to start collecting new fans automatically.
  4. Explore your Directory — Get familiar with searching, filtering, and viewing fan profiles.
  5. Set up notification lists — Let fans choose what they want to hear about.
  6. Build your first flow — Automate a welcome message for new fans.
